The Corona pandemic will be part of our lives for a prolonged period. Like everyone, Jobcenter Wuppertal is adjusting its procedures to current developments. For this reason, from 25 May 2020 onwards, the job centre can once again offer face-to-face appointments. However, only by prior arrangement and subject to compliance with strict safety measures to protect against infection. Thus, masks are compulsory in all buildings of the job centre.

We want to reduce the risk of infection for our employees and customers and avoid any unnecessary personal contact. Please understand that we will continue to provide advice primarily over the telephone and will only offer a face-to-face appointment where individual cases require it.

Where possible, all SGB II (Social Code, second book) matters to do with financial aid (granting of benefits) can and should continue to be settled over the telephone, per email or in writing. If you require an face-to-face appointment with regard to urgent matters please make an appointment through your contact person.

Also during the Corona crisis, we wish to support you as best we can in all questions regarding training, employment and professional qualifications. First of all, we will continue to give advice primarily over the telephone and extend this step-by-step towards on-site face-to-face advice. If you require a face-to-face discussion please make an appointment with us. If you receive an invitation to a face-to-face discussion you are welcome to accept it. Attending the appointment is voluntary and you don’t need to fear any disadvantages by not coming along.

Email

Please submit all applications, supporting documents or letters by email where possible. Please use the email address of the respective office (see below) and not that of your contact person. If employees fall ill, we won’t be able to take care of your issue. You can, for example, take a photo of any supporting documents required with your mobile. Please make sure that the documents you send are legible and of good quality. Our electronic filing system can only process files in PDF and JPEG format. In order to avoid delays, please submit documents in the file formats specified. Here, you can download many of the application forms which , you can send us as a file once you filled them out.

Contact by telephone

We are at your service via telephone. Any consultation which would have taken place in person before - regardless of whether it be in the entrance area when handing in a new application or about your professional situation - has now been fully replaced by consultations over the telephone. We have extended our contact hours and capacities for you. You can reach us during the usual office hours, namely Monday to Wednesday between 8.30a.m. and 4p.m. On Thursdays, we can be reached by telephone until 5.30p.m and on Fridays until 12.30p.m.

If, due to an increase of incoming calls, you can’t reach us right away, we will call you back the next working day at the latest. You can be sure of that.

Post

Naturally, you can continue to send us your documents by post or post them in person through the letter box of the respective office. However, please only use this method if you are not able to submit documents in digital form, i.e. per email. Documents arriving in paper form cannot be processed as quickly as digital post, since the documents need to be scanned in first. Please understand that we can no longer accept post in person. For your own safety and the protection of our employees, we are avoiding any unnecessary personal contact.

Important note: Postal delivery is currently taking a long time (up to 10 days). In order to allow us to process your applications more quickly, please submit your documents to us by email if possible.

Benefit payments

Information on new applications

If you wish to send in a new application for benefits in accordance with SGB II, please call us or send us an email. We will contact you promptly (on the same day, or next day at the latest) and discuss the further procedure with you. You no longer need to come into the office in person to identify yourself. We will send you all the necessary application documents by post and call you for two detailed consultations over the phone. It is important that we can reach you via the contact information you give us. The telephone consultation appointments in particular are very important in order to quickly process your application, so we urge you to keep them.

Information on applications for further granting of benefits

Once a grant coupon has expired, you must file an application for further granting of benefits. You will receive this punctually before the grant coupon expires or you can download it here. Please submit it either by post or email. You can simply take a photo and send it by email. If you can no longer find your application, then you can apply for a further grant with a simple letter. As well as the application for further granting of benefits, this needs to contain your name, address, your BG number and your signature as well as information on whether or not there has been any change to your economic circumstances.

Information on emergencies

If you find yourself in an unavoidable emergency situation, then please call us. Together, we will find a solution. If necessary, we can facilitate a short personal visit in the Office.


Integration into the labour market

Advice for your professional situation

At the beginning of the Corona pandemic we carried out all face-to-face advice sessions on professional integration exclusively over the telephone. For we strive for you to always be able to reach us and to support you as best we can in all questions regarding training, employment an professional qualification. First of all, we will continue to conduct our advice services primarily over the telephone in order to reduce the risk of infection and not endanger your health.

However, from 25/05/2020, in individual cases we are once again offering face-to-face appointments in compliance with strict hygiene and safety regulations.

Appointments only by arrangement and only with a face mask

Appointments are only possible with prior arrangement in order for us to be able to monitor the flow of people exactly. You also require a face mask for your face-to-face appointment. If you don’t have a suitable mask yourself then we can provide you with a disposable mask.

Important information regarding your appointments

Appointments that take place from August 15, 2020 on, are appointments that you have to keep. This means these are subject to a so-called reporting obligation. In the invitation letter, we advise you on the legal consequences that can result from your not accepting an invitation to an appointment and there is no plausible reason for this or you cannot claim a case of hardship. 

However, our priority in every appointment is to always provide you with the most suitable support and advice. Because we want to give you the targeted assistance you need on your way into the work world and help you to find the employment that is just right for you and your particular situation in life. This is why we invite you for a consultation

Integration measures and job opportunities

In order to provide our customers with the best possible support in their various life situations, we at Jobcenter Wuppertal have always offered a variety of measures and job opportunities in the public interest.

The coronavirus pandemic has also had an impact on these services. As your health is our top priority, all job opportunities were closed in mid-March to avoid any unnecessary personal contact.

The providers of our integration measures have also examined together with us which support services can be maintained in an alternative form. Here it was often possible to switch relatively quickly to telephone, postal and online support, so that you can still contact your designated contact persons at this time. 

Since the beginning of May we have been examining - together with our sponsors - the possibility of gradually resuming our wide range of services “as usual” (albeit with slight changes). We always bear in mind: Your health, and compliance with health authority regulations.
